Default Rugged Ridge hood vent scoop installed

This was an easy and inexpensive mod to do. I mainly bought it to keep leaves out of the grating, not really caring if it improved the air intake to my HVAC or not.

However as I was driving onto the freeway on a cold night after installing it, I could feel the rush of cold air at my feet. (I had it set to the floor vents and the Jeep's heater hadn't warmed up yet.) I had never felt that rush before. So it does work.

Salty Jeep pics...

View from inside, totally not visible unless you plant your face up to the windshield.

Got it from CSEoffroad.com for $20 bucks. Like I said, it was cheap, so if I want to take it off, I can. But it blends well with the hood. I left mine black, but it could be painted to match any color.

Nice! Any particular reason you chose to install the opening on the window side vs. ram from the front???

That's the way you're supposed to install it, the way air goes over the Jeep it hits the windshield and goes down. (At least that's what I've read here.)

I would double check that. I think you have it on backwards.

"Constructed of durable ABS plastic in 3 different finishes, these great looking Hood Scoop give your Jeep that finished look. Each attaches with tough Automotive grade tape to ensuring a long life. Each scoop can be used with the opening facing the window or facing the front of the Jeep."

Looks cool, might have to get one of these since I've always got leaves on mine
