Roof rack, couldnt buy in uk, so i made one.
Well the UK doesnt have many Jeeps, so made 90% of my own bits, front and rear bumpers, side sills, and wanted a roofrack for carrying, but also to prevent any more trees cracking the hardtop.
So what do you think, all in 25mm dia erw tube, shot blasted, plasma zinc sprayed, and powdercoated.
Put some brackets for lights front and rear.
Main thing i wanted to do, was not load the hardtop at all, so the inner frames take the weight, and also bolt to the "rollcage", to prevent side loadings, the bolts through the sides are through large holes with spacers and foam discs to seal.
Just need some nice marine ply for the deck.

Without hardtop
Well, in the UK, the summer isnt long, and it can rain hard any day, so i never remove hardtop, but yes, 4 bolts front and rear, its all off, remove hardtop, the 8 bolts and its back on.
The cross pieces can be removed at front, so you can have front section of hardtop out if you want.
I made it mainly to protect hardtop, as i rubbed a tree and cracked it, mainly why i fixed it to rollcage as well, to help with side pressure...
In the USA, you have no end of manufactures making some fantastic kit, the same over here, but for Land Rovers, the main difference, the Wrangler has moved on, the Defender hasn't, i love them, but they are poorly made, it seems the Freelander, Discovery, and Range Rovers have moved on, quality, and design, the Defender may out number Wranglers, 500 to 1, but hey, i like to be different, i love my Jeep.

i say nooooooooo to that!!!! best part is buying a jeep and making it your own. Quality, design, durability and most of all, ass kicking any other off road vehicle known to man on the trail!!!!!! cheers to JEEPS for being SIMPLY the best! 
the defender is pretty rad tho, i wont lie haha

Nice work, looks like a proper job. Did you have acces to a CNC/waterjet device for all the brackets or was it all hand fabricated?
Your right about no accessories for jeeps over here... its a shame, there are literally endless landy parts but nothing much at all for the JK .
I'm moving down to Devon soon so I will be overwhelmed with Defenders, glad to be a bit different

Moving to Dartmouth i assume, will be good not be the "only JK in the County" with Mods.
As for the waterjet, then yes, and a laser, 3d cad etc, have my own engineering business, so making bits for my jeep is a bit of fun.
Dartmouth is a really nice spot, bit busy in the summer, but still nice, pretty much all the coast from there to Cornwall and back up the north side to Putsborough is great.
Keep in touch, when you come down, perhaps do some green laning.
