So whats being said is that this cage will help in a flop but not in a end over, the stock JK cage looks flemzy enough to me to get one of these cages but for the money I expect it to protect my family even on the street if I have to make a sharp move of the wheel. I see that in that end over pic that the main hit of the roll was taken by the front end and wind sheild, are the windsheilds part of the configuration for the roll bar? Sorry I'm not trying to hijack just want to know more...

I'm saying that for the money your at least getting "some" peice of mind when a flop or even end over end occurs, your only out $600....I'll let you guys in on what it runs to get a custom cage put in that ties to the frame, I'm gonna have between $3-4,000 tied up in the cage, counting price of DOM, but I would go out and take a stupid line on porpose just to flop it over ...that's just how I am... In no way is the rock hard bolt in cage gonna save your vehicle, it may still save your ass, maybe...but your still going home to rebuild your Jeep. The thing that bothers me about this set up is that no matter how sick this cage is it is still bolting to the "sport" cage from the factory....which is weak and quite frankly a joke IMHO. Like I've said before I'm not knocking anyone for buying this cage, I just don't want to see someone installing the cage and feeling invincible and end up getting hurt

This comment sums up what this cage is for.

Without any cage and during a rollover, the only thing preventing the windshield frame from crushing downward is the strength of the windshiled frame.

Add in the Rock Hard cage and during a rollover, the force required to crush the windshield now becomes the force required to crush the Rock Hard cage which I am sure is more than what it takes to crush the windshield alone.

If someone thinks this is the end all for rollover protection then they are wrong. You don't have to spend $4,000 on a custom cage either. I got quotes from local vendors who wanted $1200-$2500 for a cage that bolted through the floor into the frame. It wasn't anything fancy looking but if better rollover protection was what I 100% wanted, then that is he direction to go in.

It's really like this....adding axle sleeves to your axle will not prevent the axle from bending, it just increases the force required to make it bend - same concept.

To me spending $1500 on a custom cage is well worth it in my opinion. Can't put a price on the safety of myself or my family. My old TJ had a "sport" cage and after I saw a couple of pics of vehicles with them after roll overs it quickly came out and went to the shop for a real cage. Only time and a few real world testing will show how good or not good the Rock Hard cage is.

What gets me is that people will pay $2500 plus for a lift kit and another $1500 for tires and wheels to make there Jeep look cool but wouldn't spend the same or far less to ensure the safety of themselves or there family!!!!

4k for Nocomp's cage, look at the thing and how much it was to go through that dash. I'm sure that it is more for the ease of getting in and out of the vehicle but a JK isn't the easiest thing in the world to put a real cage in. Over here on the East coast the shops charge about 1500-2500 for a basis cage with frame tie ins, though a JK is not remotely close to a TJ tie in wise so I don't know what the going rate for one is. The rockhard cage looks more for show than anything else, im sure it will help but would never trust it to help save me life.

have they done one yet in a JK?....if you can get one done for that price DO IT ...cause I guarantee the first one they do and realize how much more difficult it is than your typical TJ/YJ/CJ that price may go up
