Something I want to point out as well...This is Vendor Number 2 who has developed a boat rail skid type slider for the JK and the only one who did it in such a manner that utilizes this as a step as well. Very well designed in my opinion, to the point that it may have changed my mind on what I may be getting now....
As for the spot welds....to be honest, no product is perfect, it takes input from people like us to assist the vendor with tweaking it to be the best it can be....

Shots From Under the Jeep
I don't know if this will help with what you were asking,... But hopefully,...
The rear portion of the slider had to be trimmed bc of the LA Lift kit mounting site. this is the rear left slider mount site.
This is from under the driver side looking more toward the front.
Right side under the Jeep
This is hard to see. I tried to take a picture to show that the underside of the slider attaches at the point where the body is mounted to the frame. It's where you would put a body lift, but now, there are rubber bushings securing the slider at that point. I tried to wiggle/move it, but was unable.
I like the taper of the lines of the RH bumper and the RH slider
I tried to show that there is a space between the slider and the body of the Jeep that allows water and debris to accumulate. I plan to contact RH tomorrow about addressing this issue (caulk it vs a "gasket" of some sort to make that space smaller, or seal it).

I emailed Rock Hard about this and this is the response the 2 days later,...
Mark
On the spot weld. WE have tried to weld them all the way and it draws the tubing so much it will not match the body at all.
I also think that the spot welds will allow drainage of the sliders for stuff against the body of the Jeep. You could either wash the stuff from top to bottom, or powerwash it along the step and blow it out from bottom to top.
I'll keep you posted with any further comments from Rock Hard
BTW I am still loving these.
