Very sharp looking! I keep thinking about doing the same once my black rig arrives, but I'm hesitant about running spacers. They're a good looking rim, too bad jeep doesn't make a set with less backspacing.

Hey Extremeg,
Powdercoating was 75.00 per wheel + 100 rush fee (3-5 day turnaround). Also had the spacers coated - 10.00 each - with tax around 600.00 total. Unounting and mounting - 200.00. So a total of 800.00. Oh yea, the tires were 1500 delivered.
So - 2200.00 finished - sheesh.
I know I could have gotten new wheels for that but I couldn't find any ALL black rims I liked. I had seen a few members (on this forum) stockers they had coated and I just like the 5 spoke Sahara design blackened.

Here's a thread on painting stock wheels.
https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...painted+wheels
I painted steelies on my first Bronco, looked good for a while.
The paint scratched and just started looking crappy after a few
months. It should hold up a while.
The key to powdercoating is durability, it's extremely hard, there
are no solvents involved in the process. The powdercoater said
they hammer test all the parts for cracking, might have been
a sales pitch but sounded good anyway.

Let me just say DAMN. I talked to a guy the other day that does bodyshop/powder coating. Several guys I work with use him to powder coat stuff for there harley's. I called him the other day dropped a few names here and there. Told him I was a fireman. He asked if I wanted them gloss. I told him nothing shiny so he said semi. I told him that would be fine. Asked him how much and for all 5 he will do them for $40 bucks a piece with about a 5 day turn around. He has an oven that you could park a school bus in.

Sounds like a good deal. I researched powercoaters for a couple of weeks,
most were industrial and didn't want to mess with 5 wheels. I did find a
couple that were cheaper but didn't seem as legit as the the co. I ended
up using (Allied Powdercoating in Houston) . I also learned from all my
digging that you should go with someone who has done aluminum wheels
before. They need to be tumbled in a wheel blaster to remove the clearcoat
and the oven needs to be calibrated for aluminum vs. steel.

Found them on eBay. Called the place and just ordered them direct.
West KY Customs (insert joke here)

Ask for Corey.
Really nice guys to work with.
I paid 1375.00 for 5 + 135.00 shipping to Houston.
They shipped motor freight, I got them in about 3 days,
couldn't believe it.
