Default Removing sahara side steps = lift (pics)

I parked next to another JKU sport and thought that it looked higher/taller than my sahara. It was stock and the only difference that I saw was that it didn't have the kiddy side steps.

So I removed the side steps and it really does make the ground clearance look higher. + It dropped 40lbs off the JKU. = better MPG

Here are some pics of the bolts to undo and the before and after. Super easy 5 min each side with a 10mm and 13mm wrench.

AFTER

BOLTS TO UNDO

Some will like it and other wont, it's just my personal opinion.

Watch your shoes when getting in. I put my steps back on after a few dents.

Will do, I'm not lifted like you are so maybe that will help.

Put some rock rails on before you go wheeling, or risk smashing up your rockers.

Those steps do help to protect from rocks and other stuff, here in New York the road salt in winter does a number on the bottom half if you don't have them.

I didn't like the look when I didn't have the step rails since the bolt holes are showing. Rock rails would obviously cover those holes, but my 5 year old son needs all the help he can get getting into the back.
