There is a lot of truth in that. No chrome axles, suspension parts, driveline components. I am all about function, but when it comes to the interior I like the funk. Been searching for dingle balls for ages. NO luck yet.

Further report... Got it in and tuned and I am getting about a 6 km range. Plenty for the usage I put it through. VERY happy with it.

I was thinking about mounting my big frame Galaxy up there but was worried about it messing up the compass. Have any problems with that? What type of mount/antenna are you using?

The antenna mount is one that attaches to the bolts at one and three o'clockon the spare tire carrier on the door and the antenna is a 102" fiberglass whip on an egg shaped spring.
The radio is mounted using the stock hardware, and I have NO idea if it interferes with the compass. Dont use the compass. I have GPS baby!
