Here's a few pictures of me cutting the pinch seam:
Too close to the tire:
Marked the area:
Finished product. I painted with touchup paint:
I about broke my back putting the tire back on. These s.o.b.s are heavy. I'm glad that I've got AAA. I don't even want to think about installing a 40.
I ordered a 1" body lift from Northridge to give it more room.

Those of you who cut and grinded, do you think it needs to be spot welded or anything to prevent problems? Do you think it weakens the body?
Those of you you who just used a BFH can you post a pick of the bend so I can see what I need to try and do? How hard was it, like 10 hard hits or like 30 massive hits?

Just an educated guess here, but I'm thinking it would only matter if you plan on taking the body off at some point. I don't think cutting the pinch seam is going to hurt anything as long as your body is sitting on the frame.

i havent cut mine yet either. i probably will cut it off eventually, just for piece of mind. here is a close up of what im looking at now.
as for the weakening of the body structure, i would think that if your worried about it, you could drill a small hole in the pinch seam and use a 1/4" bolt to hold it together. that would probably be as strong as the spot welds that they use on the seam.

As I found out yesterday its a necessity to remove the corner pinch seam with 35" tires. They mount way close, so I bashed the seam with a B-F-Hammer and curved the seam diagonally inward. However in hindsight I should have bashed it left-to-right first, and then upward because the top of the diagonal is still close to the wheel.
No pics to show, but the wheel and seam went from O |_ to O \_
I'll now grind the top diagonal corner off with an angle grinder. To cover the chipped off paint, I used an aerosol rustproof spray-paint that dries with a colorless waxy coating.

I have a 2.5 inch coil lift with 35's, I am sure you don't have rubbing with 4 more inches of lift.
Parked mine was very close let alone flexing.
WAS now its gone, lol.
