So further inspection revealed that the "stopper" on the tilt mechanism is within the 2 plates welded together at the corner hinge. There's nothing visible like a pin or nub that can be removed to allow full recline to the floor. Oh well... it's still better than the bench seat

Looks like with a little work you could achieve "full tilt"

How are u gonna use the seat belts with the buckle and belt on the outside?
Great work though, and a great idea for the back seat people.

Thanks for all the compliments guys!

Strangely enough, today I came across a nice set of seats that match my fronts perfectly, so I bought em to swap them in. I know, I'm a little OCD about it... But I'll have these current seats up for sale soon locally in SoCal if anyone is interested in this mod. Within 1-2 weeks i think. Just let me know. Cheers!

New seats, remounted, seatbelt buckles adjusted & mounted to seats (instead of floor)

How is the leg room compared to the bench? Andes the headroom limited now as well? I really like this idea. Looks great!

I think I gained a couple inches, but could just seem that way because the seat cushion feels bigger than the bench. Plus it reclines back pretty far, and the headrest don't hit the rollbar, so the headroom is pretty good. I'll have to take a pic of someone sitting back there to give everyone a clearer idea.
