This build is really coming along...I'm sure it will RTI just fine...might get some axle wrap......
I would have done the 9.75 from a 99-up super duty so you could have the rear disc brakes..my last crawler had one it is was unbreakable lol.
I love the looks fo this monster and agree a turbo would sure kick it in the pants.
Can't wait to see the finished product...
Or your heading down to wally world to get you sum milk!

Realistically dude, the Sterling in no way is a step down in strength. Depending on what kind of D70 he had it could have very well been a step up in strength. I have a friend that beats the snot out of his desiel, it has 46s and 600 ft lbs of torque. That rear axle has yet to complain. I don't even think it would know it had a JK on top of it.
Nice build! I like seeing something different. You can get a ton of travel out of leaf springs. There are certain tricks of the trade to make sure you get the most of of them. I'm impressed.

Bullet proof build for sure. I don't see a broken axle in your future, ever. I love the fact that you may bypass the computer and keep it "crude" for a matter of speaking. Though crude it is not. The mind of a man who has the imagination, knowhow, and skill to put something like this together will never cease to amaze me. I just don't have it and never will. Probably the best thread I've read. I'll be sad for the finish.
