Default real body leaf sprung jk

heres a somewhat new build thread, i started a build on a chevy frame. but after trying to find a jk tub i came across a 07 2 door that has some body damage and rear axle damage. anyway im going to put my d60 front in and d70hd in back with my still unused 42" iroks. but i will get a little crap for this but im setting it up on 56" gm leaf springs. i just like how simple leaf spring suspension is and im not building a crawler, so i dont need that much flex.
so i will skin the sides with off road evolution front and rear armour with flars and fix the driver door and shoot it all in red again. i was able to pick it up for 5 grand, wich i think is very reasonable. mabey next winter i will worry about a 454/4l80e/205 combo.
heres my first build.

sounds good is it a manual just thinking if it is then only thing that should not work would be a speedo dont think the brake would act up if it does not see it moving

Nothing wrong with leaf springs. They have their advantages over coils. But I am not sure if the 56" springs will fit in back. You may have to extend the frame a bit. For the front, you should have no issue with wagoneer or GM front springs. The waggy springs are known for flexing well.

I really look forward to seeing a JK with real axles under it though Lot on here with D60's, but they are semi float 5 luggers. Sounds like a great project

well i had to get a ford 60, since my old setup with a gm 205 needed a gm 60 passenger drop and the tcase in the new jeep needs a ford driver drop. its nice though, this gives me a high pinion 60.

well the jeep made it here from half way across the country and its what i expected. so i got home friday morning from vegas and got it in the garage and ripped both axles out and the rear bumper. and got the 60 and 70 axles and place and put the 42" iroks on. still got alot of work left on all my spring hanger mounts. i test fit the 63" rear gm springs on back and tested the 56" rear gm springs on front and i think will end up alot better than i thought. the fuel tank will be close, but i think it will work. needs a wash real bad.

I love it!

First JK I have seen with real axles under it

Every other owner that goes with "bigger" axles goes with 5 lug semi-float axles. Good to see one with some 8 lug full floaters

Can't wait to see it in action
