Feel your pain. I just sold my hardtop. Drove 30 miles to meet the guy because it fit my schedule better and I had no place to store it. On the way home, storm hit. Didn't have trektop on yet, which was still in the ups box at home. Drive the last 10 miles in a decent rain. At least it wasn't torrential downpour.

Got hit at work last year. No doors or windows and a nice storm blew through. I put the soft top up, but it was kind of pointless. Only 2 inches of water in the footwells. But now I carry a couple of large garden trash bags with me. If it happens again I just throw one over the back of the drivers seat and one on the seat itself. Instant dryness for the ride home.
