Default Plasti-Dip Rims Before and After

This is a picture from last week when I bought the Jeep.

Last night I decided to smoke the turn signals and brake lights and Plasti-Dip the rims.

Next on the to-do list:
Window tint
Ventvisors
Teraflex 2.5" lift with shocks and spacers
Spidertrax spacers
35" tires

Enlighten me with the plasti-dip. Isn't that the stuff you dip tool handles in?

I don't quite understand, are you spraying plasti-dip onto your rims?

Plastidip come in a spray can version. Didn't know that til I started reading thru the painted grill thread. Great thing about it is you get tired of the black you just peel it away.

Very curious about that process. How many cans of the spray to coat all 5 wheels. Also, what kind of prep on the wheels before you sprayed?

Thanks for all the comments. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, but it would have been a little easier of a process if I had just covered the entire rim instead of just the spoke. I'm not sure how it will hold up but it was extremely simple to do. When I get tired of it I can just peel it off.

Process:
Clean and degrease the wheel
wipe with alcohol
mask off tire
spray with 3-4 coats (30 mins between coats)

I used about 2 cans for 5 rims and the antenna

Here is a youtube video explaining the process

And another video showing how to remove the plasti dip

I like the spokes only being painted.
Mine have been painted for about 3 months and are holding up great. I have even pressure washed them and no peeling! I was actually surprised by this.
