well to answer my own question I actually did plasti dip first on my jeep emblem to see if I would like it... then I did so I painted it. I just wouldn't want it to start peeling and stuff over time it would look like crap.

Took all of about 60 seconds to peel the wheel clean.

Yeah, I guess I wonder what they'll look like after a summer of gettin dirty, but I figured what the hell. The feedback in the forums was pretty good, it was cheap to do and only took a few hours, and I can always paint it if it turns out that it sucks.

The stuff is certainly durable. Last weekend we got a little over a foot of snow. I was plowing through 2 foot drifts and it had no effect on the plasti dip. My only problem with it is that it is rubbery and I live on a dirt road so the dust kicked up sticks to it like glue. Next to impossible to keep it looking nice like the other pics in this thread.
