To everyone doing this, I know some have left them on the jeep but the ones who haven't are you turning the wheel over and doing the insides of them?? I got all the supplies just need the time to do it now.

Yes when I painted mine awhile ago I did take them off the Jeep. I painted the backs but just not as many coats just to cover up the silver in the back round.

Good luck!!

I didn't bother worrying about the insides. They get dirty enough as it is that I hardly notice lol

anyone know if you could use the plastidip as a basecoat/primer then paint over it with the graphite color?

Yes you can. A lot of people try this because if they don't like the color it peels right off! Just be sure to tape off what you don't want colored... the plastidip will peel off a rubber tire or other parts easily but if you get paint on it you're bordering some trouble getting it off.

After reading all the posts about Plastidip I figured I would give it a try. It was pretty easy. Left the wheels on. Came out pretty good I think. I did the wheels and bull bar. D-rings are next, and emblems, and probably hinges too. This stuff rocks! I can vouch for the fact that it peels right off. Had to redo one wheel due to a bubble (missed a spot when I was cleaning). Took all of about 60 seconds to peel the wheel clean.
