Does anyone have pictures of this size tire on their X without a lift? I will be picking my jeep up over the next few days, and considering going right to that tire. My dealership will give me a credit on the stock tires if I have the new tires installed right away, and they take the stock ones. Or if anyone else has done this on their own, what have you sold the stock tires for??

Also, what is your experience with the tire as far as rubbing?? I plan on eventually doing a 2" RE BB, but not right off the bat.

I have spidertrax spacers.

No rubbing almost always except if I flex and am in a full turn. Then it just rubs against the air dam.

Yea you have to use spacers I believe! The stock wheels have I think 6" of backspacing which is difficult to get a 285 tire in without some rubbing. Spacers aren't to expensive there are spidertrax and Teraflex spacers available at Northridge 4x4! Might check out there website! YOu can get a hold of 4 about $200.

What if I go to a A/T KO in the same size? The jeep is only going to see some light offroading.

I just put on a set of km2's size 285x70-17 with 1.25" wheel spacers. I would recomend at least 1.25" of bs with this size tire. The back spacing of a stock 17" wheel is 6.25" so you may experience some rubbing. With the 1.25" of bs they fit great. I also installed a skyjacker 2" bb and I am very happy with this set up.

I have a 2008 wrangler x, and I upgraded from the stock 16" to a 17" with 258/75/17 maxxis buckshot mudders. I have no lift or spacers and deliver mail with it all on dirt roads and have not had any problems rubbing. I hope this helps.

I think I'm getting the buckshots, too. I think they look pretty bad-ass, they rate well and I can afford them. This picture above seals it for me. I've found them (285/75/16s) for under $160. Thanks.
