Default Pics of Rustoleum Hammertone Paint??

Does anyone have any pictures of bumpers they have painted with Rustoleum Hammertone Paint that they would like to share? Need to paint a new bumper and curious as to how it turns out. Thanks

Default Rustoleum Hammertone Paint

Don't do it! When I purchased my 99' TJ about five years ago, I used the Rustoleum Hammertone Paint to "re-black" my bumpers, mirrors, side steps, etc. I live in N. New Mexico and the hot summer sun baked the paint, it bubbled, peeled and even attracted rust on my side steps. Also, it backed the mirrors (which are lined with plastic) and they began to peel and look so bad that I had to buy aftermarket mirrors. I would seriously look into some other options like Rustoleum Truck Bed Lining spray. I applied this to my truck tool box about a year ago and so far so good. I don't know what it is about the Hammertone, but it sure tore up a lot of the metal/plastic material on my jeep. NEVER AGAIN!

No bumpers or anything... but I painted my RH Sports Cage with it; not sure if these help or not.

Not hammertone, but I did Satin black on the bumpers with it looking good....about factory. The bedliner is a bad idea (IMO) for bumpers. It doesn't come clean. I did the rear in bedliner, fast forward 8 months and did the front with satin black, next month I painted over the bedliner with the satin black. The bedliner never looked good after day 1 until now.

Resist the urge to fall prey to the plastidip and bedliner craze.

I'm probably going to do the duplicolor semi gloss black. It's a dead nuts match to the lod powder coat which are the sliders I have. Only one can if touch up in the garage. Just curious about the hammer tone since that is what jcr recommends.

I used rustoleum hammertone finish over my chipped and scuffed original hammertone WP diff guards. Not as nice of finish as true painted hammertone, but still nice.

Used Chipguard black rattle can on my JCR Crusader this stuff is used for painting rockers and has a textured finish like bed liner but in semi gloss.Cleans up nice after wheeling and matches the JK's black ABS plastic parts nicely.
