You know you're riding on mud tires for sure, but it's not bad. Around town you hear the hum of the tires while accelerating and decelerating. On the highway they don't seem too loud because of the wind noise, which is quiet compared to my old YJ. You can carry on a normal conversation with no problem on the highway..

OK... lots of good info here...
Was wondering if anyone runs either of the combos below, and if pics are available...

285/70-17's (AT's) on the stock 17" wheels, no lift.
265/70-17's (AT's) on the stock 17" wheels, no lift.

Not sure which to go with while keeping the stock 17" wheels for now. Are spacers absolutely needed for either combination?

Here's one of mine before the soft 8's on 33s:

And here it is after:

I have 285/70R17 BFG MTs on it. Before the new wheels, I had rubbing issues on the sway bar at full turn in either direction. After the wheels, I get an occasional rubbing on the air dam at full turn in reverse only. I think a 2" budget boost or similar would erase any rubbing issues at all.

i wanted to confirm that with the proper backspacing a 33/12.5/17 or 18 will fit with little or no rubbing... with moderate off road use?
