Default Picking up a new 2013 JKUR in a couple of daysk, need advice.

I am in the final step of negotiation with the dealership. (It's not on order, but sitting in the lot at the dealership)
I thought the 4.11 gearing was standard on Rubicons, but I'm now finding out that the one I am "almost buying" does not have that.
Will it be a big issue? I will not do any rock climbing, and plan on putting on 33's or 35's
And what's the cost to get 4.11 (or other ratios) afterwards...?

Thanks for any advice!

Your probably looking at 3:73 ratio which will be fine for everyday street driving. You'll probably not notice too much difference running 33's but if you go 35's then I recommend holding out for the 4:10 ratio. The cost to rear gear afterward is around $500, but I'm not sure. If it were me id wait for the 4:10. Good luck!

X2 one of the reasons I ordered mine with the 4.10 is because I plan on putting 35's on it in the near future.

Just looked at a ring and pinion set on Quadratec.com and it was around $200 for one set. So about $400 for both front and read, and then what ever labor costs. Hope that helps.

I think the 4.10 is standard with the 6spd, optional with the auto. x2 what the other posters have said regarding tire size vs. gearing.

Got it. Thanks for the quick respond. I am emailing back and forth with the dealer as we speak.
I will see if I can find another one, but if not, I might take this one, and gear later if I put on 35's..
$500 was not as bad as I thought.

I'll quote my wife: "I don't want us to buy a freakin monster truck!!!". So I might end up with 33's to keep her happy...
Or say the tire shop was out of 33's, so I had to get something bigger... Depends on what day of the month it is..

This forum is full of good info, and people with knowledge. I am sure I will find info regarding the lift too.
Plan on going 2.5 - 3 inches only.

Thanks again guys.

You can't just buy the ring and pinion, you have to also buy the install kit for each differential. Installing gears is best left to professionals. $1000 for installed gears front and rear is a good price, but $1200+ is common.

So you could pay the dealer $95 for the upgrade to 4.10's from the factory, or pay $1000+ down the road...
