Reading your first paragraph sounds like I wrote it! haha I've spent a lot of time on the interweb looking at tires... same thing, always knew I wanted the satin black jk RR wheels from when I bought the Jeep 3 years ago. I plan on getting the leveling kit too, good to know it helps reduce the tires looking like they are stuffed in there plus getting rid of the rake. I've heard good things about the MTZ, almost a 33" tire measuring in at 32.8". I have stock Rubicon tires/wheels that I would switch to in the winter to get a skinnier tire on there so I don't need these bad boys for any crazy winter weather. Do you have any pics of your setup? What size ATZs did you go with and how do you like the TF leveling kit? Thanks!
I did 33 x 11.5 x17 load range D.
The TF level kit did exactly what it said it would do, level, bit of lift to say ....that's not stock hight. Recommend the TF kit.
Keep in mind there are two flavours, the performance level kit from TF one with new coils and longer front swap bars, and one with spacers and longer front sway bars.
The coil kit gets you up 2" in front 1" out back for about 400, and will allow a after market bumper and not sag.
The spacer gives you same lift for 160 and no extra load carrying.
I did the spacer kit (had to fund ball joints at the time) and I got just over 2 and 1....my stock coils are 16/58
With bumpers not too far of I hope...I might switch out to the performance kit and and some spacers to get the lift I want.... That's one thing a spacer will do...give you xx amount of lift, exactly.
Thought about a 2.5" coil lift but worried I will get closer to 3" and with my 33s they might look a wee bit small.
It never really ends does it...?

The stock Rubi tires have zero sipes on them compared to the MTZ and ATZ. The GY DT are really sipped. I heard guys complain about how slick the Rubi tires are in hard packed snow on the highway.

haha no it doesn't end, I started off with installing the nav system, gps satellite, mic and new head lights. Now getting to tires/wheels finally!
I think you'd want 35's with 2.5-3" lift personally, I do think you are right the 33's might look a bit small.

MTZ in the summer months and DTs for the winter is a great way to roll and best of the best of both worlds.
The black and white contrast you will get will look awesome! Good luck with the price shopping and don't forget the Gorilla spline locking nuts.

Not the wheels you asked about but I have 33" MTZs and I love them! We don't get much ice here in TX, but I have had zero issues with on road performance. When I was in the mud with a bunch of other Jeeps, they obviously threw more mud than any other brand that was out there. All the others were caked and me and the other guy running them had tread. Not that much noise on the road either. I do rotate regularly.

Yes, though technically 305/70/R16. I saw after posting you wanted 17". I also have the Rancho 2" Sport lift. I had originally planned on 35s but decided I didn't want to hassle with axle issues later since I off road pretty regularly. I am extremely happy with my decision. Love the tires performance and look.
