I read this forum for weeks before doing anything. I heard everyone say 35s but everyone also talked about re gearing and drive shafts and chips. Everyone also said that 33s looked to small on a four door. So basically I was afraid that 35s while they look cool would cause me to spend a lot more money then I wanted to. Then I saw a great compromise. While most 33s are only 32.6 high the Nittos came in 33.5 inches high. To me this was a great compromise. The point of my post was simply to help the guys who really wanted 35s but felt they had to settle for 33s. The Nittos at 33.5 fit the wheel well nice and look mean as hell. I donot feel like I settled at all.
By the way, the lift took an hour or so at the shop but it took half a day to break down all of my old wheels to get the sensors out and then mount the tires on the rims. I could not do that at home so in the end it was just easier to have the pros do it.
As for all the guys with 35s, i think its great you made the commitment and even better if you made all the other enhancements to make it perfect. I just want the guys contemplating 33s to know its a great option and not at all a compromise. I love the look of my truck and the valet at the restaurant tonight summed it up. Sick looking Jeep. So if you are thinking 33s go 295/70/17 and you will be just as happy as the big boys. Trust me.
Final note. This site was invaluable in deciding what to do. Great pics to look at and great posts. If you are buying tires from discount tire direct don't forget to ask for the JK forum discount. My 5 tires came to $1,340 shipped.

I like the 33's for my daily driver. For those of us with the 3.8L, the 35's do put a strain on the acceleration and the fuel economy, not to mention the possibility of bending the C's. I ran 35's on an '07 and my '08, one with 4.10's and the other with 3.73's, both 6-speeds. They really needed a regear to 4.88's. I am happy with my 33's with my auto trans and 3.73's. I don't have the budget for many upgrades lately when it costs so much to just fill up the gas tank now. I can't afford to lose the MPG.
