Still havent installed mine! My back went out (again) so I called the local 4wd place they said they could get to it friday but it would cost $150-200 for install! Should i just piece it together when i can over the week?

Yup. Also have a gap and used silicone to seal the gap between the spacer and the body.
Mine is the Jerry can version and I use a padlock not because of the place I live, but where I sometimes park (malls, middle or nowhere, etc).
I also bought a lockable steel cable that I pass through the spare holder (that big T screw) and the Jerry can handles. It's a headache, but at the current gas price, having 10 gallons of gas and a spare loose in the back of the Jeep is not very wise. ;-)
By the way. I installed mine by myself. Took about a day and a half because I measured at least three times before drilling and took my time doing it.

Personally, unless you're really handy I'd easily pay 200 for the install. It's a headache.
