Default quick gap fix

I trimmed a piece off the foam from the fender liner, and put it between the block and body. No Gap and looks clean.

Just knock it out yourself, you could spread it out over a couple days if you had to.

The first few days I just slowly started putting it together and constantly read the directions! First took of stock carrier! Next day did the hinges and so and so on! The only thing I can say is take your time no need to rush! Just get a buddy to help you put the spare back on!

I doubt you can get the install done for only $150. Do it yourself...save some $$$ and learn some some shit

Yup. Also have a gap and used silicone to seal the gap between the spacer and the body.

Mine is the Jerry can version and I use a padlock not because of the place I live, but where I sometimes park (malls, middle or nowhere, etc).

I also bought a lockable steel cable that I pass through the spare holder (that big T screw) and the Jerry can handles. It's a headache, but at the current gas price, having 10 gallons of gas and a spare loose in the back of the Jeep is not very wise. ;-)

By the way. I installed mine by myself. Took about a day and a half because I measured at least three times before drilling and took my time doing it.

Personally, unless you're really handy I'd easily pay 200 for the install. It's a headache.

What type of silicone are you guys using to fill the gap? Where can I get this stuff? Thx.
