Brand new - tires just installed today. 15x8 Ion Alloy 171's (3.5" backspacing) with 33x12.5x15 Goodyear Duratracs with a 2.5" Teraflex coil lift that we installed this summer.
Here's a picture of the clearance between the front caliper and the inside of the 15" wheel. I'm posting this because I wished somebody else had done it when I was considering 15" wheels. I did not have to grind the calipers. I understand that some Rubicons may need to grind but I have no documentation of this.
Very happy with this setup. Other stats that I found out while researching this combination that might help others:
- Stock rim is 28 lbs, Ion Alloy 171 is 19.5 lbs.
- former tire was 275/65R18 - 50 lbs, 33x12.5x15 is 49 lbs.
