actually if someone feels inclined, I've looked everywhere I know and can't find any fender requirements for the state of NC...also talking to several inspection people they say there are no requirements that they know of soooo...please if anyone knows otherwise post up

Nope.
Nothing about tire/fender/flare/mudflap coverage in the NC State Code Annotated.
The only potential issues would be the max 6" lift height and updating your title with the new engine.
I haven't gone back through to look at your steering wheel, but if you removed airbags it is a problem.

If you were driving like a fool, then I can see the law enforcement officer being a dick.
Bottom line, I really wouldn't worry about this build in NC.

waiting on front driveshaft to get there so we can move on to finishing the interior (we can't seal up the hole in the floor until driveshaft is there), also limiting straps and 5 point harnesses ordered sooo just waiting for parts at the moment
