That's true unless you are pushing A LOT of air with a turbo or blower. I rode in a 650hp supra this weekend running 18 psi on a 71mm turbo, that's low boost. I've never rode in a street car with a v8 running on pump gas that had that much power. That 3.0 motor probably pushes the same amount of air through it as a 496 big block, yet drive ability and fuel mileage are much better. Of course it isn't instant power but it is there on tap any time.

But those things are just dyno queens. The torque curve is laughable (just look at a dyno sheet). You put one against a bigger engine with a nice torque curve, and it will lose badly on the strip (which they almost always do). Not to say forced induction is bad, I love it. But only when its done properly to make for a better torque curve, not a worse one.

Not really on the track, that's what the anti-lag setting is for on the standalone. You leave the line at 18psi, no less. Done properly like said on any engine you can build boost very quickly and controllable with minimal lag.
The V8 for my buggy will have twins, I won't have any issues with lag or any supra like torque curves...haha
On a side note, that supra is sick fast but without slicks it has not prayer of hooking up in 1st or 2nd, thus givin the name of dyno queens. Now the 997 on the other hand is a different story...
Imagine the hemi with boost, V8 torque curve with a added kick in the pants...I guess you'll have to see how those wheels and tires effect things. At least you have 5.38s instead of 5.13s. Will you go bigger once the 41s wear out? If so, what tire?
