I had OIIIO in Indiana. Went to renew and BMV told me that my plate was banned. I asked why and the reply was that Law Enforcement can't tell between cap i's and 1's. Sounded like a crap excuse.
So no personalized plates for me. Tried BMF...lady asked me wha it meant, told her "Be My Friend". Also got turned down...

I had 1's in replacement if i's. Was told the police couldn't tell between i's and 1's. No disrespect to the police, but that is a BS excuse. No one should be able to become a police officer if they can't tell the difference between the two.

They should allow "I" and not "1". Let context give the meaning. I bet everyone reads "ILUVYOU" and "I980 CJ" correctly, even though the second uses the letter instead of the number.
