I have the silverstars in my stock headlamps, they do not have a beam like that. I suspect the reflector has far more to do with it than the wattage. either way, after driving mine stock, then with the silverstars, then seeing this, I will be one of the first ones on the list to get these. The silverstars help some for the price, but they still rely on the stock reflectors and are abysmally bad by comparrison with what i have seen here.

I need better lowbeams, i am fine for highbeams as i have driving and spot lights for that purpose, low beam is where I suffer.

Eddie, how many times did you and Cindy get high beamed driving to and from the Desert? When you have the low beams on. That's a good gauge!

by virtue of them being whiter and with a focused beam that concentrates the light in front of you MUCH better, these lights will appear to look brighter. i was just trying to be as objective as possible in my assesment is all. when compared side by side to the "brightest point" that the factory lights put out, the brightness is about the same HOWEVER, this brightest point is concentrated in one location and in what appears to be a horizontal band across the road. everything in front of that bad or behind it looks significantly darker. by contrast, these new IPF headlights put out the SAME bright lighting and spreads it out evenly across the road. does this make sense?

the IPF headlight lenses are designed with cuttoffs to prevent light from unnecessarily blinding traffic in front of you. to help illuminate signs and objects on the side of the road, they are also designed with a kick up to the right. if you look at the comparison shots, you can kind of see what i'm talking about.

Actually I hadn't noticed that before. They do kick to the right from your garage photo. Nice.

Once again, this is a shot of the driver side factory headlight on low beam from about 10-12 ft. As you can clearly see, the beam of light is yellowish and spread out in a band or strip across the garage door and everything beneath it looks dark...

Now, compared to this shot of the passenger side headlight on low beam with the new IPF 920H4, you can see that the light is MUCH whiter and that it does a much better job of illuminating the door clear to the ground. also, you should be able to see the kick up to the right. Trust me, this does a great job of illuminating signs and pedestrians along the side of the road...
