Hey
Im going to use JB weld on the inside to set it on the lever itself. That stuff is awesome. It was a suggestion by the guy who made it.
As for the swirl making it darker, he did that on his own! Just ask for it that way and he can pretty much do anything.

Ok
Just finished the install.
Grabbed JB weld (Kwick) which you mix and it sets in 5 minutes.
Applied jb to shift lever after determining how far down knob would sit. Apply liberally.
When putting on the knob, seperate the know from the shaft (i know how that sounds... im laughing as i type this)...
Put the "shaft" on the lever (geesus), over the JB. This allows you to look at the top of the lever and see how well the JB has distributed.
Screw on the 'knob' (lol), and get the skull face aligned.
Now you have about 2 minutes to clean off the excess JB with is along the bottom of the shaft (*sigh*). It comes off easily with paper towel.
Let sit for 5 minutes, longer is better.

I don't suppose you can ever change your mind after having JB welded it on, or are there plenty of options for knobs that use that thread pattern? If so, I like your idea very much.
