I just bought the N-Fab rails, they have a detachable step. I dont have them yet but when I do I will let you know how they mount. I only paid 300 for the rails online, the steps are 75 a pair. Perfect for what I need. I dont hit the rocks too hard so I dont need the heaviest duty rails out there, but my kids and wife get in my Jeep everyday so......it seemed like the best option!

My wife (5'2") LOVED the big Sahara steps I 1st had and wasn't too happy when I swapped them for Smittybilt SRC Classics (like Ludski's, but without the crap underneath). I'll probably change them to either a Terraflex, PSC or Hanson full rail/ step type. Nemesis makes a pretty nice one also...

ACE all the way. My unlimited didn't come with anything for steps and the bare look was killing me so the Ace rails was the first thing I bought. They look really good and so far everyone has complimented me on them. And they're exactly what you're looking for, they function as a great step.

I have the ACE on order, due next week, with the new Jeep due the week after. I plan on adding either grip tape or bedliner on the top to provide some more traction in wet conditions. Wife also has to have steps, she's 5' 3". I looked quite a bit and these were the ones I ended up ordering. Wife didn't complain about me ordering them at all. Especially when it's really for her!
