X3. The only open element system used with a snorkel is Volant. I think you have to use the stock airbox with that AEV snorkel. Unless you did a mod where you were able to make a custom seal with that k&n? From your pic, I don't see that working.

Default AEV snorkel and K&N

Hi, the AEV snorkel is connected to your stock airbox, basically you have to push out the original stock vent and push in the AEV snorkel end. An wide elastic band seals it as well as you have to seal up the bottom vents in your airbox.

When I am not on expedition I just take the stock airbox out, install the K&N induction kit as usual. OK it is a slight squeeze but the K&N kit fits with the AEV snorkel. Obviously your snorkel isn't working apart from giving some fresh air to your K&N air filter
