How are you going to get the foam out of it after you fiberglass it and do you worry about the fiberglass breaking or cracking?

No, not at all. I can assure you that fiberglass is very strong, It would take a VERY significant impact to break or chip it when finished.

I will have to cut the snorkel down each side and remove the two halves. Take out the plug (styrofoam), add mounting rivet nuts, then reattach, sand, and paint...easy stuff fellas..

Default Updated Pics

Ok, welp I got started on the snorkel for a few hours today. I didn't get alot done, but I got some done.

You can't tell it from the pic but the whole plug is covered in Johnson's paste wax. It will allow you to take off the mold later on without to much trouble:

Add your fibermat:

Start laying your resin, but only work in about 4 ounces at a time, otherwise you will probably waste most of it:

Tape off the area that you intend to use as the bottom of the snorkle that goes into the air box.

Add your wax and then Lay your chop mat:

Lay your resin:

When it drys enough that it doesn't flex to much then pull it off, trim, and check fit again:

Welp, thats it for today..if some of you are looking at the pics going WTF , it will make much more sense once I get the plug on and everything tied in. This project is about to get really involved so stay tuned!
