Default my rear bumper build

I decided to spend the long Labor Day weekend building a new rear bumper for my '12.

I stared with some 6' x 4' x 0.188 wall rectangle stock and some scrap pieces of 3/16" plate. All was scrap at a steal place in Indy by my brother at a cost of $0.60 / pound.

The day one shots show the bumper all welded up as a base bumper. I plan to just paint tomarow and use it, however my longterm plans include fog lights, d-ring mounts, and a spare tire carrier.

Back to it this morning. I am going to use the tow hook hardware as the bottom bolts so I cut the factory nut plate in half, one piece for each side.

All mounted up until I get time to make d-ring mounts and add fog lights!
