I love it down there! The people, atmosphere, and police are nothing like Jersey. I took the jeep down also, had a blast driving on the beach and seeing all the crazy lifted 4x4s.
It's my new favorite drive-to vacation spot!

That's nothing!!! I still to this day pull sand out from when I sank mine last may.. make sure u check the depth of any said puddles on corova beach!!

planning to head out to OBX first week of OCT. Any suggestions would be great!

I was plannin to rent a house in the 4x4 beach area, but it's not lookin to go on gettin enough people to come with me to make it worthy. So, hope to just put the money towards some new campin gear and go out there and camp for a few days.

We drove from Illinois to that area in 2009. I still have sand inside the Jeep. We can't wait to get back there. At night the 4WD only area is so remote, it's pretty easy to decompress.

And I remember seeing the A1 towtrucks running up and down the beach. I figured they were expensive.

about the dude in the suburban. he was just envious and thoroughly embarrassed but that is still no excuse; he definitely acted like a dick.

secondly and forgive my ignorance, but where is this place we are talking about. looks pretty cool and worthy of a road trip.
