I dig it, simple yet effective. I really like the texture.

I see you cut your rear fenders but not the front.

So be easy on me. Here is how it came out.

I used a piece of scrap C Channel i got for free. It was the perfect length. i didn' t even have to cut it. So first i cleaned it up a bit. Then cut a few notches to make some bends in it. Next welded them together and then ground them smooth. next I have to make a new mounting bracket. So i welded a plate to the rear of the frame, then threaded it. Drilled through bumper for mounting holes. Cleaned up the bumper and primmer it with some Rustolium. then used Roll on Bed Liner for paint and texture.

Things yet to do. Double up on mounting so it will hold better. Spray inside black Bed Liner. Come up with a good way to cover the upper gap on the body. Also would like to make caps for it but not sure yet.
Did you not use a bend break for this??? My husband knows how to weld, wanting him to fab something up for him ...

How long did it take to do??

Looks really good

Wish I had a place to tinker. What's important is you got off your duff and figured it out. They don't teach that skill in school any more.

That's not bad at all. Can't wait to see what else you can do.
My dad used to weld so maybe I can get him to teach me a few things.

lc619fr : yeah I wanted caps. Actually I wanted to put an extra bend in it to even it with the body line but the piece was too short. :(

07rubisteve : Yeah Im thinking of using the Spray bed liner for the bolts once I bolt it on.

armdong : Yeah I was impressed with the texture. I havent cut the passenger front fender yet. but I have done the driver side. You can view my other thread. I just posted it same day as this. Its called "Yes I know... I did it too!"

rubiconjack : No bend break. Its "C" Channel so it has the shape already. All i had to do was cut some notches for end bends. Overall it probably took 5 hours. Not including Dry time between coats on the Bedliner.

Thanks everyone!! I'll try to get some photos of the mounting when I get a chance. Probbaly when I go to take it off to paint the inside.
