More HP, more TQ, the fact that a hemi really brings the best out of the Jeep all the way around, and general cool factor I'd say are up there.

Ben, what gears are you running with your hemi?

Gerry or anyone else, typically what gears do folks run with the hemis? Regearing to 5.13s was pretty much mandatory with the 3.8 with the move to 37s, but I'm wondering if that's too steep for a 5.7 or 6.1? Thoughts?

Hemi power is a major plus on the road. The extra power offers a better everyday drive and no worries about getting up to speed and keeping it.

The gears depends on what your running. We have done 6.1L 4.10 gears and 35" that cruises at 70MPH at 1850 to 1900 RPM's. Most others have gone 37's and 5.13 and typically a little over 2K RPM's

The Hemi has more power and more torque, especially in the lower part of the power band where we spend most of the time while driving. As far as why a Hemi over other engines (since I have seen this question asked several times) the reason is because in many states to be street legal you need to use an engine that was in the same make vehicle (Jeep) and same model year or newer. Also the Hemi has a lot more support than other engines for this swap, and the electronics communicate very similar to the 3.8 that comes stock making it much easier.

I am right now, running the 4:10 stock gears D30 in the front and D44 in the rear. I am only running 33's so it should be more than fine. If I go bigger, then I will change my gears. I will "probably" sell this Jeep once completed and build a new Rubicon with another Hemi. Then I know that I will go 35" at a minimum and gears.
