I'll probably do that to mine when it gets scratched up.

Any idea how much weight the line-x added to the top? Did it reduce interior noise noticibly?

The painter and I lifted it off before and back on after coating and honestly I have to say I couldn't really tell a great deal of weight change. The freedom panels were more awkward to place so I guess everything weighs just a little more. What I did notice is that the whole shell is very rigid now and doesn't feel like it's gonna snap in half. There is also NO WAY this is gonna scratch up! The line-X is like iron. One of the reasons I did it was that even though the hardtop sat in my garage all summer it had little scratches and chips all over it . I swear the brand of paint the factory used was Tempra!

Yes, I did notice a reduction in interior noise. But I not only coated the outside I added the Hothead headliners AND I discovered my firewall steering shaft flange had slipped down which allowed a high frequency engine sound and "tick" into the cabin. The jeep is much quieter now and really a pleasure to drive again. BETTER than factory!

Can't get any pictures right now it's been raining for two days! Hope it stops, I need a new roof on my house!

No I didn't. Actually in the sunshine it sparkes a little and I really am not into that but when it's raining like it seems to always be doing here lately it matches the fenders and powder coated pieces, When it's dark you can't see it anyway so it doesn't matter!

i know what you mean. im just saying that in a year or two it will be a very dull dull black/dark greyish because i have seen it like that on so many trucks thats have line-x. but i guess it will probably match the flares then ?
