Default My bright idea

Hey guys. I had this issue of my Hi-lift rusting and dripping the rust on my driveway and my back bumper. I know it's advised to keep it indoors, but I really love the look of it outside the Jeep (stupid, I know). so in attempt to stop this, i decided to give it a fresh new coat of paint!

Now I feel like in the long run this will come back to bite me, but feel free to share your opinions! it started off as an all black jack.

Ok, so I was thinking of mounting a hi-lift on my hood. Has anyone else had the rusting problem? My JK I Sahara Tan so rust on the hood doesn't sound very appealing to me.

Paint is a logical remedy for rust. Looks great! Don't think this will bite you in the butt. Seems like good maintenance to me. Keep it clean it should serve you well. Planning on getting the neoprene cover for mine to keep most of the bad stuff out of the lift mechanism.

Paint is known as a great rust inhibitor. Besides I think it looks great! Mine is soon to go under the knife and get a fresh coat!

ok thanks guys. I guess I'll have to see how the paint actually holds up. hopefully this doesn't become one of those things I constantly want to change like my grill mod color.

Had someone today ask me if it was legal to have a gun (they were talking about the hi-lift) on the back of my Jeep. I just laughed and said sure.

Mines on my front bumper and so many people have asked that too! I don't see how it could be a gun, and it's so heavy!

That's just too funny! Maybe it looks like a combo rail/shot gun! That would be too cool! They should sneak one into the next Modern Warfare! An Easter egg only Hi-Lift owners can unlock.
