I've pretty much rested the rear bumper going up Little Blue at Disney and other than scraping off a bunch of paint, it still looks good. Here is right before I slid back into the rear bumper.

The front has also drug across a few things and held up well. Here is the same trip... I slid up the front of the rock a bit on the bumper.

The tire carrier is installed. I am a little disappointed in the sag of the swing arm. It isn't that the arm sags so much as I think the spindle sags on the bracket on the passenger side. Once the carrier swings shut I need to lift it up onto the bumper. I wonder whether over time the wedge that rides up on the bumper will wear down? I am sure there are better made options out there, but for the money it isnt too bad. One important point - they say to use the stock tire bumpers on the back door. These don't even come close with the plates that they are to press on adjusted all the way in. I lucked out and had the Daystars which worked perfectly. There is still some wiggle to it, but fairly solid overall. I ran out of time to mess with the 3rd brake light, but the kit came with a nice bracket and misc. parts to utilize the factory light.

Here you can see the sag of the carrier.

I think the nature of the design allows the separate plate to flex on top of the bumper.

I love my RR front bumper and was thinking of getting the rear... I only wished it looked like the front stubby a bit more, but I can understand why it has to be like that.

Rugged Ridge sent me a replacement passenger side bracket for the swing arm. This is the side that the tire carrier pivots on. Great customer service. They also included two new bearings and castle nut. The original (as seen above), let the swing arm sag to the point it was hitting the rear bumper.

The new bracket arrived today and works perfectly. There is nothing wrong with this tire carrier bumper combination now. It swings shut and is only guided into place with the plastic wedge under the swing arm. With the added adapter for the 3rd brake light, this is a very complete kit!
