I called about two weeks ago and spoke with a guy at dynatrac. He was telling me that portals aren't really commuter friendly, and referenced the 5:1 gear reduction being an issue for freeway driving. He said you could get away with it on occasion but not recommended for regular use...
I'd love to switch to portals, but that took the wind out of my sails.

Is it really that expensive for a 5.7 Hemi conversion? Even with the same 5 speed auto that they pair with the Hemi in the grand Cherokees?

AEV hasn't released pricing for the '12. Kit yet, I'm hoping they will during SEMA (on my way there now). Burnsville off road still charges the same price without a new tranny because they haven't cracked the ecu. They are hand splicing all the electronic piggy backs to make it work. Disclaimer: that's a rough explanation of their labor efforts , not an exact one

Read on here somewhere a while back about Jeep having finally perfected the matte paint process so that it's as durable as traditional paint. Here's hoping this is a glimpse of factory matte paint colors to come.

Like the axles, but at that price....too much for me.
