Thumbs up Moab Easter Jeep Safari 2008 Vendor Show Highlights

The past few years, manufacturers have been using the Moab Easter Jeep Safari Vendor Show much in the same way as SEMA in that a lot of new products make their debut and/or are released for sale during that time. In fact, even Jeep has decided to use this show to introduce and show off new concept vehicles and performance parts such as the JT and Gladiator or this years J8. Anyway, here are a few highlights that I thought you might enjoy seeing...

Without a doubt, this MOPAR Underground J8 in a military motif was by far my personal show favorite...

BTW, I've been told that the MIL Spec D-Rings is something the Underground team is pushing really hard to make them available to the public.

Yup, you're eyes are not deceiving you - PUREJEEP is finally releasing a new bolt on front bumper hoop and from the reactions that I saw at the show, it will be a hot seller....

Rock Hard 4x4 Parts released their very very nice new full width front bumper...

Off Road Evolution has some seriously kick ass tube fender/body armor on display as well as their all new EVO Lever on display...

Among other things, Expedition One was showing off their new slim profile Jerry Cans...

Now, I have to say that AEV surprised me with their new snorkle system in that it attaches to the factory air box, has clearance for the factory antenna, has a cyclonic pre-filtering system and is surprisingly affordable at only $300....

Of course, their new HEMI kit was also a surprise as it is VERY complete and estimate have it so that you could do a complete install for only about $4500/$8000-10K installed....

On the hush-hush, I got a chance to check out the a prototype AEV speedometer calibrator which will most likely be priced at about $100 and will take all but 2 min to use. Unfortunately, they did not allow me to take pics of it but I can tell you that it is coming soon.

AlloyUSA debuted their seriously beefy new Dana44 JK front axles...

I apologize for the quality of this photograph but the lighting inside the arena was pretty bad. Anyway, this is the new Tuffy Security lockable roof rack box...

And finally, yet one more new (no-drill application) roof rack is now being offered to JK owners and this one is made by GOBI Racks...

Believe me, when I heard the price, I had to ask them to repeat it more than once just to make sure. If in fact this is something that can really be done for this price, it'll be on my to do list.

I imagine the $4500 is for a DIY kit? What does all this include?
Very Interested

Pretty much everything you see on this rack...

essentially, all the brackets, adapters, wiring harnesses, hoses and even things like a new radiator with overflow bottle. The only thing more you need is a crate engine and time.

We can have the motors shipped to Eddie's house ('cause he's got an ultimate set of tools!) and have a (very) long weekend install party.

Thanks for sharing. I love how the JK looks great with all these custom prototypes. First the JT, now this army one. They're all sweet.
