I have a Miller 185 at work that has no problem burning into 1/2 steel with 75/25 gas mix. I've also used 100% argon at times with good results. Just not good for any overhead welding.

Thanks guys! I think I'll try this out tomorrow on some scrap I have laying around. I found some angle iron I can use with some c clamps to keep the parts at 90 degree angles to each other while I get it all tacked into place. This is kinda funny but I think I'm gonna see if my new rotozip cutter will cut plate...just to see if it will.
