New rear bumper went on last night. Ace Pro Series with carrier. Two inside flush mount Rigid 6" SR light bars. Bumper looks great. Figment wasn't perfect, had to "tweak" the light mount tabs a good bit to make the light fit. Bumper is HEAVY, going to have to put the rear coil spacers back in I think. Overall very happy with the bumper and the carrier is absolutely silent.

Explain this to me. I'm somewhat a newb to shock tech. What is charging them. I know they have nitro charged shocks but why did you have to charge it. Are you changing the ride or did one leak out or something.

It leaked. The nitrogen pressurized the fluid that dampens the bumps. When the pressure was removed, the shock was only pressurized on one side. The 6 pak is a dual direction shock, it compresses in the up and down direction. So, the shock was only compressing in the down direction. All better now.

Gotcha. So are most shocks just upward charged?

Basically yes. Most shocks are Uni-directional and only have one chamber to charge. Monotube shocks

So would these be more at home in the desert running a Baja or do they have an advantage in slow rock crawling?

Yes and yes. They would have great heat properties in a Baja style application. The actual stroke of the dampeners are shorter than a typical shock since it moves in both directions. Advantage in rock krawling is the extra 2" of travel in the shocks allows for additional articulation. They also ride fantastic on the road. So much better than my billstein 5100 I had previously.

Through the front bumper swap (not complete yet) I chose a bumper that really doesn't have a good place to mount the 20" light bar. So, I sold that light bar and ordered a 50". I went with HMF fabrications mount. The design looks good, and it's 3/16" so actually is armor as well should I ever need it. Dropping them off to paint this week, will update once installed.

I've been reading through this thread on my phone (it's awesome by the way, nice JK) and had a question about your beadlock aev wheels...did you have to get spacers to make them fit? They look awesome and seem to be a good substitution for the 400/wheel alternatives.

Sorry if you already answered the question but i couldn't find it...

I did not put spacers on them. Then went out on the rocks and ate up my control arms, sway bar links, etc. they need spacers. I have them in the garage now to put on. They are 5.2" so my 1.5" will take them to 3.7" and should be good. Thanks
