Default Lost some unwanted poundage off the front end

What up all. Just thought I would post a couple of shots of my new Viking synthetic winch line. I got this installed yesterday at work and I am VERY happy with the results...now I just need to go find 4 or 5 feet of sand/mud to get stuck in! Overall, a very smooth install (some minor grinding of the chain link for the spool end of the line was required to fit my Superwinch Epi9.0, but other than that, no issues), and I coupled this line with a Spidertrax Anodized Blue Aluminum fairlead to accept the new synthetic line. Enjoy!

The old steel line removed and the new synthetic line ready to be installed.

The new Viking line bolted up to the winch, ready for pre-tensioning.

The completed line install, with the front license plate relocated directly to the Body Armor front bumper.

Overhead shot of the new line on the winch.

Close-up of the new Hawse-style aluminum fairlead.

I'm very impressed with the results and I have the added bonus of reppin' my alma mater's colors on the front bumper now, with the blue fairlead and the yellow sling hook. YA DIIIIIIIIIIIG?!?!?!?

Why the new Hawse-style aluminum fairlead? Less weight and looks much better than this big hunk of crap???

J:

With synthetic line, steel roller fairleads are NOT recommended. As they age with use, they can develop burrs and nicks in the rollers that can actually tear up your synthetic line. If you swap a synthetic line in, either hawse type fairleads OR roller fairleads with polyurethane rollers are the norm.

Bingo...I got the mount free when I ordered my front bumper 2+ years ago. Nothing but high praise for it.
