Default LoD Mid - Why is the fairlead offset?

Just finished some more mods this week...LoD midwidth, Smittybilt XRC 10 Comp series winch, and KC 6" slimlites. After installing everything I noticed that the aluminum fairlead is offset to the driverside along with the winch itself. So I measured the distance and the fairlead is offset to the right about an inch....the winch is offset even more. I never noticed this looking at all the pics before i bought the bumper, but now I see it. My question is why it is offset? Its not a big deal....I'm just trying to understand if there is a purpose for it

Distance from shackle mount to shackle mount is about 30 1/4"

Center of fairlead should be 15 1/8"....but is closer to 16 1/8"

i would say because on the passenger side of the winch is the motor making it be offset towards the driver side

The powerplant does not fit in the mopar bumper and the fairlead is a little to the drivers side too

Haha...I installed my LoD mid-width yesterday along with my Warn XD9000i winch and wonder the same why the fairlead and winch did not center. and wondered...what did I screw up now????...

Then I thought it must be built to fit the larger winches on the market.

This one is my favorite response!! HA. No it is offset to fit the Warn Powerplant and some other winches on the market. Since the winchs have the motor sticking out the one side really far and trying to fit it between the frame rails it makes the fairlead offset to one side. Most people never notice but it is offset a little.
