I did not install the lift myself. Besides the fact that I don't know how to do it, the Jeep dealer told me that a lift won't void my warranty as long as I have it professionally done (as opposed to doing it in my driveway) and don't go over 3.5". It cost right about $1000 installed.
I got a pretty good deal on the rims - $122 each. The tires cost about twice that (though the tires are still cheaper than the run-flats on my cadillac).
As for driving it, I've only been around town in it so far. And I took it up to the mountain yesterday. I'm very pleased, and so far haven't felt like the 35's turned it into a dog.
