I had lod on my 2dr, they were solid. I have psc rocker knockers on my 4dr and i have been impressed with the abuse they have taken.

For those of you who have the LOD sliders, do they trap mud? I like the design from a foothold standpoint for my smaller kids to climb in and out. They just look like a child's shoe would be less likely to slip off when entering or exiting.

Also, they are bolted on, but by looking at the attachment points turning them into a welded on slider looks simple. Anyone with experience on that?

I installed the LoD sliders and have kiddo enter/exit experience.....
to answer: your entire rig traps mud .... but, they do trap a bit more mud since they are sorta "closed off". The entire underside with the LoD logo, etc, is all bolt on...so you can simple leave that off (thats what i did), then, it is no different from any of the other sliders.

as far as kiddos entering and exiting: The slider is more narrow than the regular side steps (on the sahara)...so...if you are used to that, be aware. the "platform" on the sliders is more than just a tube, so there is a BIT more for little feet to step onto than with other sliders...regardless of which slider you choose...the toughest part i've seen for little ones getting in is having something to grab onto in the vehicle...as far as exit...well...they all seem to just slide out and/or use the rail to step on and then jump.

These are brand new from body armor. They are functional rock sliders & steps. I wanted some protection, but needed something for the kids to get in & out. I don't loose much clearance & these things are solid (about 50 lbs each)

I had a few PM's about where I got them. I ordered from offroadgears.com they are brand new so you may have to call Russell.

I have the Shrockworks sliders. Very beefy and have saved my body several times now.
