Very nice set up. Looks good and sturdy. I know that they are a little pricey, but I think I'm going to have to get one anyway.

Questions on the OR-FAB:

Do you have to mount the tire facing in?

Any rattles, or does it latch solid when closed?

My tire mounts facing out. there is an adaptor plate to use lugs to mount it if you need that or want to use a center cap.
There are nooo rattles in mine. the old rubber bumpers un the tailgate snug the cans up tight. The latch is adjustable so you can tighten as things wear.
nice directions for install very well built IMO. I have adapted my old third brake light to work as well.
I dont think you will be disapointed.

Last question:

Where is the best place to buy one? I have ordered from Northridge before with great service, but I don't see this item on their site. Where else is it available, and who has the best price?

You could check OR-Fab on their site. I am going to cut the old oem bracket down to see if I can make it work. I am not a huge fan of the "T" handle.

Buying from OR-Fab direct = $648.49 shipped.

Many times is cheaper to buy from a vendor rather than the manufacturer. Just wondering where those that already have this item bought it, and if any of the forum vendors offer it cheaper.

I WON mine from JK-MAS. It was shipped from Northridge, I thought you were talking about the optional parts available. It is very well built and really not bad to install. Good Luck.
I would call Dave if you don't see it on his site.
