I lived in the midwest for a year north of Chicago on the shore. I always wanted to go to Wisconsin to visit a dairy farm. I know it seems like a silly, romanticized idea, but I thought that it would just be the absolute embodiment of the heartland. Never made it but I love to see others with farms. Just genuinely good people who work hard and breathe fresh air every day. Wishing I could get out of this desk jockey job......
How coincidental is this? Just as I'm typing, my iTunes is playing Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World". Maybe it's the anniversary of 9/11 that's making me emotional, but I actually teared up typing and thinking about that farm. I think I'm going to go hug my wife and kids now. Good night everyone and thanks again for your beautiful posts.

You've got some great shots there. I'm always amazed on this thread just how beautiful this country is and how many incredible views there are to see. I also think your red JK really looks nice against the backdrops. I come here to this thread just to dream and to feel good about America. Thanks for posting, you and everyone else.

It's located south of Revelstoke down by Trout Lake, BC and travel south towards Kaslo. When you hit Gerrard the southern most point on Trout Lake you will cross the river. After you cross the main highway bridge it will be your next bridge on your left that you have to turn on. I think it's 47km marker on the Trout Lake Highway 31. You will need to head back on this FSR road about 25km and cross several bridges but stick to the lower valley bottom and you will pass a CMH heli fuel site just keep going up and you will pass a couple of older Atco Trailers and old mining cores. This will be the start of the mining trail up to the alpine and old mine sites.
