Sorry, not a recall. Customer Satisfaction Notification L 05 Transmission Oil Cooler Lines. This is what the letter says. Dealer told me it was a recall.

that's not just disturbing, it's WRONG! With Chrysler's apparent new take, it's obviously the same ole crap, rebranded, slightly updated (although I love the new marketing and design) and no greater quality. My first Grand 99- got a new engine. the second was fantastic and ran to 200k when we sold it. I've had no major problems on the two jeeps since either, knock on wood. Either way, that is not a situation that any corporation or consumer can view well.

That would explain the fire. Tranny fluid on the manifold?

Toad is right. It sound like someone owes you something.
I'm glad no one was hurt. Good luck and keep us informed.

I'd had the windshield replaced( 2nd time) and the Service tech told her, she had to park it in the garage - due to rain. What if she had made it home, I could have lost everything. House, wife, kids.

It's late here and I've been working my ass off to get some cash for a new vehicle. I'll be back later. Share the video and my story, maybe someone will care.

This scenario is what scares me most about my JKU Rubi with automatic... I have 2 toddlers, both in car seats.

As a mental exercise, I have visualized their extraction using a Spyderco knife stowed above my left shoulder on the rollbar. I'll go down with the Jeep fighting for both of these little guys...

I may have to consider a trans cooler as an added safety measure.

Best of luck. Really glad all are OK.

Wow, I have been fearing this same scenario ever since I bought my jku, im glad your wife is ok, not to jump a thread, but would a tranny cooler have helped in this situation? Or was this just a freak manufacturer fault?
