My guess is that the new lines were not the problem.All that holds the lines into the transmission are spring clips.I bet that the tech didn't get a line clipped in good and the trans leaked fluid onto the exhaust running right beside them.

I did a search and there are 9 dealers within a 25 mile radius of him, UGH, who is the dealer in question?

My buddy had a similar thing happen. His wife had just bought a new Toyota Sienna van. She had just gotten home, parked in the driveway. She went inside and came back out and it was in flames. It only had 250 miles on it. Did alot of damage to their house also. As with your Jeep, Toyota offered nothing but now with the insurance and attorneys involved...it is all changing.
